When Charlie Weis doubled down on JUCOs in the 2013 recruiting class, the goal was immediate, definable improvement. There might be some hints of encouragement on the defensive side of the ball -- Rice's 0.976 rushing S&P is too high, but Rice does have a damn good rushing offense, and the Owls' suspect passing game had minimal success -- but the hope likely ends there. The KU offense still stinks. And while I realize that Tony Pierson didn't have a great game (he had a lovely 77-yard catch-and-run, but his other seven rushes and targets gained just 21 yards) ... he's all you've got in the explosiveness department. (Yes, I know James Sims had a 39-yard run.) He needs to be getting at least 10-15 attempted touches per game.
