"I started to think about my life without football, and honestly, I got into it because I couldn’t imagine my life without it. It’s a strange way to make a living, but it’s something I enjoy doing. If I won the lottery tomorrow, I would keep doing it."
-- California head coach Sonny Dykes
The best quote in the book comes from the new Cal coach, but there are great quotes and interesting conversations to be found throughout Study Hall, and I take little to no credit for it. I wanted this book to come across as a conversation about the topics I enjoy, and the people who agreed to have conversations with me brought their A-game.
I want to thank everybody who helped with this, but I also want to thank the people who have read and reacted to my work over the years. And, of course, I'm ridiculously grateful to Aaron at FO and everybody at SBN for giving me such awesome platforms. I've gotten enough feedback, positive and negative, to grow as a writer and develop just enough confidence to go and do something stupid like write a book. I hope you all like it. It was a labor of love, it turned out exactly as I hoped it would, and it made me love and care about this stupid sport even more than I did before. That's all you can hope for.
And seriously, if you find a typo or a mistake, lie to me and tell me you didn't.
With a new season on deck, a quote from @SBN_BillC's must-read new book dropping this month is entirely too perfect. http://t.co/0Hflj8jccb
