Hilinski's Hope works to help student athletes with mental health issues and to eliminate the stigma surrounding mental illness. It offers resources such as a six-part online mental health and wellness program. It also sponsors a comprehensive bystander intervention program called Step UP!

The Hilinski's Hope foundation was created after the death of Tyler Hilinski, a Washington State University quarterback who committed suicide. Hilinski's mother, Kym Hilinski, and her husband Mark have been working to advocate for mental health on campus.

Spelman College

Historically black Spelman College in Atlanta has decided to ditch its varsity sports programs and focus instead on a campus-wide wellness program. The move was announced last week, and comes as a shock to some.

However, the move is a good one. Spelman has long been a leader in health and wellness for young black women. The school is known for its emphasis on exercise, healthy eating, and sufficient rest.

In addition, the college is breaking ground this summer on a new multipurpose fitness facility. The facility will feature weight training, group exercises, and aquatic spaces. It will also include an educational component.

In fact, the college will even provide free fitness classes to students. The program will feature instructors who will teach students about their bodies. They will also teach students about their individual needs.

Northern Virginia Community College

Richmond football

Besides providing a high caliber soccer program, FC Richmond has a reputation for making players out of players. They've also helped countless players develop a sense of character. In fact, five players have been inducted into the Australian Football Hall of Fame. In addition, the team has a Recreational soccer program and a Travel soccer program. Richmond Football Club has also partnered with Stem4, a company that specialises in promoting positive mental health in teenagers.

As part of the Richmond Health and Wellness program, the Club's athletics departments have begun a pre-participation mental health screening program. They also hold monthly Wellness Wednesday sessions where team members learn about the various resources available on campus. The program also entails the use of massage chairs and therapy dogs.
