You'll rarely see a leverage rate of 50 percent. Technically you can go as low as about 33 percent or so (first down = standard down, second-and-long and third-and-long = passing downs), but 50 percent is basically a complete failure to stay on schedule. Clemson's defense has certainly ratcheted up the efficiency in 2013; the big plays weren't a problem against BC, but they could be against Florida State this weekend.
