What I Love: The 2000 Independence Bowl

New, 2 comments

How do you take an Independence Bowl with only a semi-interesting hook (Jackie Sherrill leads Mississippi State against his former team) and make it the single best, most memorable game from the 2000 bowl season? By dumping a ridiculous amount of snow onto an area unaccustomed to such a thing.

Honestly, I'm not sure how that lateral was legal, but I don't care. It was the perfect ending for such a surreal game. This is one of my favorite bowl games of all-time, and since we discussed Mississippi State this week, now was the perfect time to bring it up.
